Often yes. We start with a diagnostic to see how blocked the DPF is and why it failed to regenerate. A forced regeneration on the ramp clears most cases. Heavy soot loading or sensor failure may need additional work — we'll quote before any repair.

When the AdBlue (urea / SCR) system detects a fault, modern diesels start a countdown that eventually prevents the engine from restarting. We diagnose the underlying cause — sensor, dosing pump, NOx sensor, low-quality AdBlue — and resolve it before the car limits itself.

Permanent physical removal of a DPF on a road-going vehicle is illegal under UK emissions regulations. We work within those regulations: cleaning, regeneration, sensor replacement and ECU correction where the underlying cause has been fixed.

A diagnostic plus forced regeneration is often a same-day job. Sensor replacement or deeper cleaning may need the car overnight. We always confirm timing in the written quote.
